Blog about our life in Senegal
For those who don't know me, my name is Anette. I’m from Sweden, and I’ve decided to blog a bit about my life in Senegal and my adventures with Caramba. I will also share photos and of course Caramba's fantastic art.
Since this is a pretty big change, I know people are curious about how everything will work out for us. In many people's eyes, I am moving in the 'wrong' direction - but for me it is the right! This also all happened so fast just because it felt so right. The blog is also for my family in Sweden so they can follow my life here in Senegal.
Here is the short version of our story. I visited Senegal in December 2025 on a drum and dance trip with Rosa Bussarna, a Swedish travel company. Caramba and I found each other on only the second day. We truly found a home in one another. There was a strong connection from the start, but it took a few days for us to realize the feeling was mutual. There was also so many new impressions for me. An amazing country in so many ways.
On the first day, on the drum and dance trip, in december, we all went into town to see the fishing village, Kafountine. Caramba, who live next to the Hotel Bendoula, joined us. This is the first photo I took of him, showing off a big fish.

In my upcoming posts, I'll continue the story from that first day we met, mixing it with photos and updates on what’s happening in our lives right now.
